Factory Cancels Remainder of 19/20 Season
Over the course of the last 2 weeks, we have beenclosely monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. For clear and up-to-date information about local risk we have been following the recommendations of public health authorities as well as our federal, provincial, and municipal governments. As a result of all of the new recommendations brought forth this week, Factory has made the decision to cancel the remainder of our 50th Anniversary Season.
This decision unfortunately means that our production of Daniel MacIvor’s House has been cancelled along with our upcoming Brave New Works reading series and our Training Enhancement Program’s year-end showcase, Sparks Fly. This was not a decision we came to lightly, but the health and well being of our audiences, artists, staff, and volunteers is always our top priority.
Ticketholders for House will be contacted by our Box Office via email with the following options:
- As a not-for-profit theatre, this decision impacts our ability to deliver the great art you expect at Factory. During this time, we ask for your support and to consider donating the value of your ticket(s) back to the theatre for a charitable donation receipt.
- You may apply a credit to your Factory Theatre account to use towards an upcoming production in our 2020/21 Season.
On Tuesday March 17 we made the decision to close our building to the public. Administration staff have been working remotely and continue to be available via email. Please note that due to the closure of our building our Box Office staff will not be available in person, but will continue to be available via email (boxoffice@factorytheatre.ca) and by phone (416-504-9971). We look forward to opening our doors once again, as soon as public health authorities indicate it is safe to do so.
While this is not the end we wanted for our 19/20 Season, our staff are currently working away on exciting possibilities to share more Fiercely Canadian theatre with you right from the comfort of your own home. Stay tuned to our What’s On page for upcoming virtual programming!
