NOW Magazine features House & acts of faith on its list of Toronto’s Top 10 theatre experiences!
Under the leadership of Nina Lee Aquino, Factory boldly explored the possibilities of virtual theatre. First came a one-night live-streamed performance of Daniel MacIvor’s solo play House, starring Kevin Hanchard from his own home…Then, Aquino announced a full season of live virtual theatre, beginning with a two-week run of David Yee’s acts of faith, which was so effectively done it made us feel like we were watching actor Natasha Mumba in the theatre.
NOW Magazine has unveiled their year end list of the Top 10 Toronto stage artists, shows or stories of 2020 and we are incredibly proud to see our virtual productions of Daniel MacIvor’s House: The Isolation Version and David Yee’s acts of faith make the list! Thank you to everyone who joined us on our live streaming adventure this year – theatre sure looked different amidst a pandemic, but we’re so happy to have found a way to bring these stories to audiences across the country, completely free of charge, at a time when we all need theatre the most.
Check out NOW Magazine’s full list below, we’re in some really great company and we’d love for you to check out what other theatre companies and artists created this year! We can’t wait to continue pushing the boundaries of storytelling in 2021 and bring you more of our (virtual) work!
