TEP’s acting intensive is for eight early career actors to develop the skills needed to create and support new work. Over the residency period selected actors will participate in masterclasses, readings, and workshops. The intensive will culminate in each actor performing in one of three new works written by the one of the playwrights in the unit and directed by a member of the directing cohort.
During this process the eight selected artists will be guided by their mentors who will provide one-on-one support to expand their practice.
Our Intensive offers:
- Experience working in a company of actors
- Participation in a new work development process
- Membership in a small theatre cohort
- Participation in masterclasses, readings, and workshops designed to build your skills in new work creation
- Working collaboratively with the directors & playwrights from the unit, as well acting in the showcase presentation
- An honorarium
Opportunities:
- Building communication skills for workshops and readings with directors and playwrights
- Receiving feedback and notes on your work
- Learning how to integrate changes in new work
- Building working relationships with other theatre creators (both emerging and established artists)

- Folx who identify as early career artists
- Artists who have a passionate interest in Canadian theatre, new play development
- Artists with a high skill level in your field
- Artists with a sense of humour and an openness to collaboration
