Elizabeth Staples
Bio
Elizabeth Staples (she/her) is a queer femme settler of Italian ancestry, who was born and raised in Tkarón:to (Toronto). She is a multidisciplinary theatre creator with practices in performance, directing and movement facilitation. She also works as an independent producer and arts administrator. She is one half of Jord+Liz, a creation unit that imagines the future of queer gathering. Elizabeth was a part of Factory Theatre’s TEPs in the Acting Cohort and has been a mentor for Toronto Fringe TENT and The Playwrights Guild of Canada’s Resiliency Program. Recent Acting credits include: Chez Moi (Buddies in Bad Times’ Rhubarb Festival), White Girls in Moccasins (manidoons collective/Buddies in Bad Times), Private Eyes (lemonTree creations). As an emerging Director her work has been supported by Nightswimming and been featured in festivals such as SummerWorks, Aluna Theatre’s CAMINOS Festival, BIBT’s Queer Pride, Bricks and Glitter, and Musical Stage Co’s Musical Moments. Elizabeth is an extroverted virgo who wants you to fall in love with theatre.
