Kayla Ado

Bio

Kayla Ado is a queer Egyptian/Iranian dramaturg, director, and manager. She is currently finishing her BFA at York University in Theatre Production and Dramaturgy. Kayla is the Founder and Artistic Director of Past Lives Production Company. Kayla’s practice focuses on creating opportunities for early career and marginalized artists. Selected credits include Production Manager and Director/Dramaturg for in the woods somewhere, No Ragerts, and Story Holder (Theatre@York, Audio Theatrica Vol. 1), Playwright/Director for Weret Hekau (Past Lives Production Company)

She is currently the Co-Artistic Director for Theatre@York’s playGround 2021-22 season and is thrilled to be the Apprentice Dramaturg on You Can’t Get There From Here Vol. 2 at Factory Theatre.
