Bio

Miranda Martini is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), Alberta. She co-wrote music for “John Ware Reimagined,” a musical about the life and impact of Alberta cowboy John Ware. Her face and voice can also be seen and heard in the documentary John Ware Reclaimed. She is a music director, sound designer and sound dramaturg for theatre, most recently on “Teenage Prophet” and “A Dress With Pockets,” both for the Stage One Festival of New Canadian Work at Lunchbox Theatre. Her nonfiction writing can be found in publications like Alberta Views and The Sprawl, as well as in the anthologies The Black Prairie Archives (Wilfried Laurier University Press) and Other Tongues: Mixed Race Women Speak Out (Inanna Publications). Miranda is currently working on a sci-fi musical.
